New Mainers Support Center

LWPI New Mainers Support Center” mission is to help obtain employment, schooling, social supports like childcare, books, fees, transport, training. We have begun providing citizenship pathways for new immigrants that have come from the Southern Border up to Maine. It is estimated that there are as many as 3,000 asylum-seekers that have come in the last 3 years. We are processing asylum applications, work permits, as well as housing and basic goods. This project supports immigration applications, work authorization applications, General Assistance supports, and getting them housing vouchers. We have a good system and network set up here in Lewiston and we all work together.
